Validating password for your Blackberry Internet service email



• Go to Home screen

• Setup icon

• Select Manage Internet Email

• Select the email account and press track pad

• Select validate

• Type in the new password

• Click Next

• You should see a message “Your password has been successfully validated”

Outlook contacts not synchronizing

Follow these steps to delete and undelete Desktop [SYNC] service book.

1. Goto Options (wrench icon).
2. Select Advanced Options.
3. Select Service Book.
4. Locate Desktop [SYNC] display the menu and select Delete
5. Confirm the delete before exiting Service book option
6. Go back to the Service Book option and display the menu and select Undelete.

• Email Accounts



• Select Enterprise email


• Enter email address
• Enter activation password
• Enter new password for device when prompted
• Wait for activation to complete
• Activation complete – Click ok

Receiving Duplicate emails on Blackberry

If you were a Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) subscriber and moved to Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) and now receiving duplicate emails in your messages. Follow these steps to check

1. Make sure there is no forwarding setup under your BIS to your company email account. Login into your carrier blackberry website to check.

2. If there is a BIS email account setup for your company email then simply delete it.
a. You can also go under Setup
b. Personal Email setup
c. Select the email account and delete it.

3. Delete the service books - follow steps below
a. Options
b. Advance Options
c. Service books
d. Look for abc.def@xyz.com (CICAL) and abc.def@xyz.com (CMIME) service books
e. Select one of them and check UID# - it should start with BISExxxxxx. This will confirm that your company email is setup via BIS and not BES.
f. Press Esc key and go back to where all the service books are.
g. Delete both CICAL and CMIME service books associated with your company email account.
h. Escape out of the options menu
i. Send test emails to make sure that you are not receiving duplicate emails

Note: On some blackberry units you may not be able to delete personal email account. Please contact your carrier tech support to get this accomplished.

Steps for Blackberry Enterprise Activation

You need to have couple things set with your carrier before doing BES activation.
1. Make sure you have an enterprise data plan (unlimited ) and not a Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) plan
2. Secondly your device will most likely will get an IT policy that will require you to set a device password.

Note: These steps works for most Blackberry models except the Torch.

Follow these steps

1. Go to Option (wrench icon)

2. Select Advance options

3. Select Enterprise activation

4. Enter your email address ( ex:John.baker@xyz.com)

5. Password (passcode) = xxxx (Blackberry Admin/IT dept will provide you this password)

6. Press track pad /track ball

7. Select activate
